Xwejni Beach

Xwejni Beach is a sandy coastal spot on the north side of Gozo, immediately west of Qbajjar. Its location makes it particularly convenient for visitors exploring the coastline around Marsalforn, Qbajjar and the salt pans.

The beach offers a more conventional sandy beach experience than nearby Qbajjar Bay, while still retaining the character of Gozo's rocky northern coastline.

It is a useful choice for visitors looking for a straightforward place to swim, relax and spend some time beside the sea.

What can you do at Xwejni Beach?

🏊 Swim

The sandy shoreline provides easy access to the water and makes Xwejni a practical choice for a swim when sea conditions are suitable.

☀️ Sunbathe

The sandy beach is well suited to relaxing beside the water. Bring your own shade and beach equipment if required, particularly outside the main summer season.

🤿 Snorkel

The surrounding rocky coastline provides opportunities for snorkelling when the water is clear and calm. Explore carefully around the rocks and keep clear of boat traffic.

🚶 Explore the coast

Xwejni is well placed for a walk along the northern coastline, with Qbajjar, the salt pans and other coastal features nearby.

🧂 See the salt pans

The famous salt pans are close by and make a natural addition to a visit. Their geometric pools cut into the limestone create one of Gozo's most distinctive coastal landscapes.

A good all-round Gozo beach

Xwejni is a particularly useful beach for visitors who do not want to choose between a sandy beach and the dramatic scenery of Gozo's northern coast.

You can swim and relax on the sand, then walk along the coast or visit the nearby salt pans. Its position also makes it easy to combine with Qbajjar Bay and Marsalforn.

e-Malta tip: If you are exploring the north coast by car, Xwejni makes a good beach stop between Marsalforn and the salt pans.
